U.S. Navy Addresses Industrial Base Employment Challenges At Free NJTMA Dinner & Presentation.

NJTMA U.S. Navy Talent Pipeline Program Free dinner and presentation.

Difficulty in recruiting, training and retaining qualified employees in the post-Covid era of "The Great Resignation," along with increased retirement rates of legacy workers and what many believe to be current near-total employment is a challenge facing companies in all fields.

Manufacturers face additional hurdles in attracting top talent because of negative pre-conceived notions towards manufacturing as a desirable career choice.

The emphasis placed on 4-year college degrees and a societal bias against "working with your hands" has helped increase the talent gap manufacturing companies experience.

The United States Navy has set ambitious goals for surface and submarine shipbuilding and fleet combat readiness for the foreseeable future.

The Navy is acutely aware the country's manufacturing capabilities need to be up to the task. The key component is adequate staffing of technical and especially production positions.

This awareness has lead the Navy to formulate its Navy Talent Pipeline Program, which it is now introducing to New Jersey-based manufacturers.

The program is NOT limited to companies currently doing business with the Navy but is open to anyone doing business with or having the capabilities of doing business with the Department of Defense in general.

In addition, this event is free and open to anyone who:

  • Is interested in best-practice hiring procedures.

  • Is interested in learning more about the NJTMA.

  • Is interested in networking with manufacturing industry business owners and executives.
